All Births Childbirth Education

Your body, your baby, your birth – New Day Doula wants you to have all the resources you need to feel prepared for childbirth and the first few weeks at home with your newborn. This interactive and relaxed class helps you and your partner prepare for whatever lies ahead.
Go beyond the basics – this is your experience, so own it! This course works on its own or in addition to a hospital class.
 
Things we’ll cover:
  • How to stay healthy and feel comfortable during pregnancy
  • Get ready for labor before it even begins!
  • How labor happens – how does baby get from in there to out here?
  • How your birth partner can play an active role throughout labor and delivery
  • Comfort techniques during labor
  • First 24 – 48 hours after birth
  • What is happening to me now? Find out what to expect about postpartum emotions and physicality
  • Baby’s here – now what? Learn how to care for your newborn

Your Birth Childbirth Prep at  Trillium Wellness Center
  • Saturday, April 21st from 1-4 pm
  • Includes Information found below as well as a chance to meet local practitioners in prenatal yoga, massage, acupuncture, and Reiki

Childbirth Preparation ~ $50/hr

This is a great option if you'd like some help preparing for the birth of your child but don't wish to have a doula attend your birth. We approach this service as though it is a private childbirth preparation class, with the format and content of the class focused on you and your needs. (The information and techniques that we provide will differ from your standard hospital-based childbirth class.)

Possible inclusions:
  • Comfort measures to relieve pain - discussion, demonstration, and practice
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Labor and delivery positions
  • Hospital policy and procedures - how to navigate for your best birth
  • Choosing a care provider
  • Knowing your options and your rights
  • Creating a birth preferences document
  • Plan A, B, C...discussing the risks and benefits of common birthing scenarios
  • Connecting with your baby and your partner for a better birth
